Flukso replacement in Australia?

We had a power outage last night, for about a minute. After the power came back on, my Flukso v2 did not connect to my wifi network any longer. Looking at it, only the power and heart LEDs are on solid.

Power cycling the Flukso did not help. After connecting via ethernet, I get link level connectivity (ethernet LED is on), but the Flukso will not assign an IP via DHCP.

I assigned 192.168.255.99 as a static IP to my laptop and tried to ping 192168.255.1, which should be the Flukso, but no joy.

I tried holding the toggle button in for well over a minute while the Flukso was powered on, but it didn't reboot. So, it looks like it is thoroughly bricked. Any way to bring it back to life?

If the hardware is toast I'd like to buy another one. But, looking around on the web, I can't find any outlet in Australia. Is it possible to buy a Flukso here at the moment? If so, where?

Any help would be much appreciated, I'd like to sort this out quickly if possible, so I don't lose too much of my consumption data.

Thanks,

Michi.

Hmmm… After having the Flukso powered down all night, I figured I'll plug it in again, just in case. Wouldn't you know it, it suddenly started working again. That's with no changes to configuration, to my network, or anything else. I'm mystified :(

I'd still like to know what the situation is with respect to buying a Flukso in Australia. They used to be sold by rowetel.com, but they don't mention it any longer.

I haven't a flukso unit as yet but I have a login to their site in readiness. Yesterday when I tried to access their website I was getting a gateway error message. That was for most of the day into last night. This morning I tried again and can access their site and login to my account. Perhaps your problem wasn't your end at all.

Cheers
Dennis

You mean rowetel? No, the site was working fine, only they don't seem to sell the Flukso anymore.

If you mean the flukes.net site, no. It was up at the time, and I could not get anything to work on the Flukso. Whether the Flukso site is up or not, the Flukso will still connect to wifi and hand out a DHCP lease when connected via Ethernet. My Flukso was simply dead until it miraculously started working again.

So, what's the story about Flukso in Australia? @Bart?

@michi @Rannoch For the Fluksometer v3 we've switched to an AC-AC power adapter to be able to sense the line voltage and the angle between voltage and current vectors. At the moment we do not stock this AC-AC adapter with AU-type blades. We've activated the AU/NZ shipping option in the online shop once again. You will require a small travel adapter converting between EU- and AU/NZ-type pins though.

Another power outage last night, and my Flukso is dead again. Can't get it to reconnect. Sits there with the power and the heart LED on solid, the other LEDs off. While it's trying to boot, the globe LED comes on for a few seconds and then goes out again.

I take it that my is toast?

I don't mind the travel adapter, that's cool. Would the power supply from my Flukso v2 work?

Thanks,

Michi

Ah, stupid question. I get it; the power adapter also provides data to the Flukso for the phase shift?

Happy to order a replacement. Just let me know if you see any chance of rescuing my v2. If there isn't any, I'll buy a replacement.

A typical FLM02 boot sequence is:

  1. power + heartbeat led on
  2. globe led on as well
  3. wifi led on, blinking when active
  4. globe led turns off
  5. heartbeat led starts beating
  6. globe led turns on when flukso.net can be reached

That's close to what I see, but not quite. What I get:

1. power + heartbeat led on
2. globe led on as wel
3. ethernet led flickers once very briefly
4. globe led turns off

No response thereafter.

But I'm totally mystified. I reset the Flukso several times today. No joy. I reset it again around 5 pm. No logging for some time. Then, suddenly, at 5.50 pm, it starts logging again.

I'm totally stumped. I haven't seen this before. My network, config, everything are exactly, what they were for the past few months. I haven't changed a thing.

Any suggestions for what I should look at to figure out what's going wrong?

Thanks,

Michi.

Mine failed after a power outage. Had to purchase a new one some time back :(

I ended up replacing my v2 with a v3, too.

The v2 would not connect to my wifi network, as I described above. After numerous reboots, without changing anything, it would connect. Once connected, it was working reliably. But, every time we had a power outage, I ended up going through the same thing, having to reboot ten times, twenty times, whatever. Eventually, it got the point where it wouldn't connect at all, or at least not after well over forty attempts.

The new v3 is working fine on the same network.

After my electricity provider shut the power off all day to do maintenance I noticed my flukso v2 didn't work anymore. I thought it was blown , but after trying a new power supply it worked again.

I am on my third power supply for my unit which I bought from another user of this forum. (Bazzle). All working fine again. Moral of the story is if your flukso stops working ,be sure to check the power supply .
