Flukso comes with a firewall that wont allow you to connect via the wireless interface. You can check that flukso is alive by sending "arpings" to the unit for example or checking your AP to see if it is associated. If you want to telnet/ssh to flukso you need to check the firewall configuration and ACCEPT connections via the wireless interface.

How can I check the flukso's firewall configuration ?
Do I need to connect it directly to the computer via cable ?

I believe it is under /etc/config/firewall and yes you need a wired connection. You can google for "firewall openwrt kamikaze" :D
