Minute Tab on FLM02B, Anyone got it working yet?

Minute Tab on FLM02B, Anyone got it working yet?
I still cant get a reading. My FLM02A does ok.

voogt's picture

I didn't look into it yet, but still get: "×Error - The call for sensor smart-main experienced a timeout. You are probably not in the same local network as the FLM.", do you get a error?

But if I goto the hour tab I can see with one minute everything so I do not see why the minute tab is there.
At PV output I see evertything with 5 minute interval.

I have a FLM2B with firmware 223

The minute tab shows the actual real time consumption and generation. It allows you to turn on the kettle and see how much power it draws straight away. The hour chart doesnt do that, its also delayed.

@ Bart..

Have you had a chance to look into this yet please?

Not yet Bazzle. I'm now wrapping up some urgent stuff before going on holidays. I'll look into the issue when I get back.

aboaboit's picture

Any updates on this, Bart?
I am seeing the same issue on FLM02A / 223.

gebhardm's picture

Sorry to write that, but same issue with firmware FLM02A/223 -
× Error - The call for sensor PV Impulse experienced a timeout. You are probably not in the same local network as the FLM. (this is sensor #4)
This error message is definetly wrong as it worked beforehand and the LAN settings didn't change...
Access via local API (http://localip:8080/sensor/sensorid?version=1.0&interval=minute&unit=watt) works fine, as it should...
Regards, Markus

Funny thing: the minute tab works AOK with an iPad. Always. - J

gebhardm's picture

OK, to more precise - let's do a browser check:
On my iMac the minutes tab works with Safari 6.0.5, Javascript switched on; it does not work with Firefox 23.0.1 (timeout)
On my laptop with Windows 8 it does not work with Firefox 23.0.1 (timeout); it also does not work with Internet Explorer 10.0.8 (no reaction at all).

aboaboit's picture

D'oh... looks like it is a browser issue, indeed: no luck here with FF 23.0 on current Kubuntu but Rekonq works fine. Weird.

bazzle's picture

Not.. with my iPad, Safari or Photon :(

Hi Bart

Been able to look into this please??

Something is being blocked. This is the error (in dutch) that pops up 4 times under Firefox 23.0.1 under Windows 8 using Firebug.

Laden gemengde actieve-inhoud “http://192.168.0.xxx:8080/sensor/6a677...xxx...345a1ed2?callback=jQuery17103237135482311071_1378402150183&version=1.0&interval=minute&resolution=second&unit=watt&_=1378402154453” geblokkeerd
head.insertBefore( script, head.firstChild );

Strangely the IP is my local network IP on which the FLM is running. I would expect a global IP and even then this call might indeed be blocked by a firewall and cause a time-out. Calling this URL on my own network does return the comma seperated data.

Browsers have recently become quite picky about loading mixed content. While all content from flukso.net is HTTPS, switching over to the minute tab will make the page fire off HTTP requests every second to the FLM directly. Hence the mixed content warning since we're now mixing HTTPS and HTTP traffic, which they consider a security issue. Using HTTPS for these local calls is not an option due to the load it would generate on the FLM. And you would also get a browser certificate warning. The Mozilla security blog shows you what to do to disable this content blocking per site.

Could you tell me if this solves the issue?

jgysenbergs's picture

Works for me. Thanks for figuring out.

I'm now seeying this error under Firefox 23.0.1:

  1. Error - Real-time charting is not available on this Fluksometer. If you have an FLM02, then please upgrade to the latest firmware release on the my account -> devices page.

Pretty sure I'm on the latest firmware though ...

FF 23.0.1 on iMac works fine following the description linked by Bart - unblock the "unsecure content" from the very left side of the address line, the little shield displayed there...

bazzle's picture

We need to know how to make it work on Windows 7 with IE.
What steps to take please.

bazzle's picture

Error - The call for sensor Consumption experienced a timeout. You are probably not in the same local network as the FLM.

I can disable Unblock secure content bit but still get the above message on IE and Firefox.

icarus75's picture

If you get an error using FF 23, could you press Ctrl+Shift+I to access the developer tools window. Click on the 'Web console' tab, then click once on the CSS tab to disable all CSS errors/warnings (indicated in blue) and press Ctrl+R to reload the page. If any errors pop up, copy/paste them into a comment.

gebhardm's picture

Minute tab works also with IE 10.0.9200 under Win 8 Pro after choosing "Display all content" - so here the same issue with mixed content secure/"unsecured"...

bazzle's picture

OK this
Error - The call for sensor Power Used experienced a timeout. You are probably not in the same local network as the FLM.

In the last posted picture: In the browser window's upper left corner, the little half-black/half-white shield symbol right of the "go back button", press this and choose to display also the "unsecure/blocked" content; that's it...

bazzle's picture

That's not it, some of you guys don't understand the issues others have.
I bet not all the people following this thread are having sucess.
Just gives blank screen with some loading text repeating at bottom left.
We should be able to use this on ie as well?

gebhardm's picture

Just to sum up the findings so far:
Issue (somehow generic to all current browser versions of FF, IE, Chrome, ...): The flukso.net website communicates via secure https (what ever secure means in times of the NSA); despite that https connection the minute tab refers to a local resource NOT bound into the https connection to flukso.net. This causes "mixed active content" that current browsers block. Consequence, the minute tab does not work, as long as blocked in the mixed content situation...
Solution (tested with IE10, FF23, Torch): Use the "unblock mixed content" feature of the browser; this is accessible via some function available at the address line of the browser (show all content, unblock site, whatever...) or a corresponding popup (IE) - Google is your friend on this one...
If there is another error related to this, this is still subject to be found; but at the moment it seems solved by the "unblocking" feature...
(note that the error message in BAZZLE's posted firefoxminutetaberror1_-picture says: "blocked loading mixed active content: http://192.168.0.29:8080/sensor/...")

gebhardm's picture

Of course the unblocking only works if you really, really are in the same network as your FLM ;-)

bazzle's picture

well, I've completely uninstalled, reset, set up following the March instructions to the letter.
I can see my data.
I can see the FLM (only if I plug into cat5 port.used to set up wireless and sensors)
I have tried to run the minute tab on IE, Chrome and a new install of Firefox. I've pressed the shield button, turned off all the stuff.. but I still can not see minute data!
I still get the error message about not being in the same network blah blah.
Everything is getting access thru the same wireless router, either wired or wireless.
Remember this is the new FLM02B not the old one (that one worked ......)

I (we) need a step by step guide thats understandable for us who do not know an http from an https.
We also dont need people coming on saying this works and that works without checking it works for all.
Someone unfamiliar with pc's wont have a clue what pressing cnrt, shitf T means on their web page, esp if they are not using FFx.

Frustrated Bazzle :(

aboaboit's picture

The fix suggested by Bart (unblocking mixed content) works fine for me on FF 23.0
Thanks :)

This is what I now see. Code looks ok I thnk? but No picture.
