Would be perfect for those that don't have or are out range of Wifi networks. Also a great backup if the fixed line has gone down. Have a look at Dovado for inspiration.
Sorry if this comes across as spam. The suggestion is seriously intended and if you look at what I am referring to they support a large number of 3G USB dongles.

BTW the USB port suggestion is for the Fluksometer, not pushing an additional device.
