Hi,
I am sorry if I come across like a newbie but after spending 2 hours reading different topics in the forum I am still not sure how to change basic things on my new Fluksometer. All I want to do is connect my fluksometer to my router using a cat5 cable. So I only need to change the fixed IP address of the FLM and disable the DHCP. Where do I start?
There is that discussion https://www.flukso.net/content/no-ip-connect but it seems a little old and I am afraid to corrupt my new Flukso.
Can please anyone give me some directions?
Thanks
Luke
Just press the toggle button to switch off WLAN and use LAN only instead; this makes the FLM a DHCP-client gaining its IP address from your router. So simple... See manual chapter 1.2 and 2.1.2.
Note that after that you have to log into your FLM's config page with the router provided IP-address.
Thanks Gerbhardm for your reply. Yes reading the manual I was hopefull this would be pretty simple but now I can't access the FLM webgui. I can see in my router that it gives the address 192.168.1.6 to the FLM but I can't ping it. I've got 4 solid lights (power, heart, planet and network).
Thanks
Luke
Ok I've just added the FLM's serial number in my flukso account and it registered fine(picked up last heartbeat), so I know that it's working. But why can't I access the config page or ping my device from my computer?
It's woking. I was using the wrong IP address. Initially I used the wifi because my router had the wifi mac address of the FLM associated to the IP I was trying to access. But there is another mac address with a another IP address associated to the ETHERNET port of the FLM.
Sorry for wasting your time.
Thanks
Luke
To quote Hannibal Smith: "I love it when a plan comes together."
You are not wasting anyone's time; welcome to the community :-)
Just for your info: The wifi and eth mac addresses are listed on the FLM's silver sticker at the back.
