Hard reset flukso

Hello,

Is there a way to perform a hard reset of the flukso? I cannot ping the device over the network anymore, and using the toggle button in either of its 3 functions does not work anymore either. If I understand correctly, the function of the toggle button is defined by a configuration file, so this requires the flukso to run properly to work. What if the flukso freezes/loops before the process that deals with the toggle button is started? On my device, the heartbeat led is not blinking anymore. Is there a hardware way to reset the flukso (like bridging two contacts on the motherboard)?

Thanks beforehand.

Have you power cycled your FLM? Just pull the power cord, wait 10 seconds and power up again.

Hi Markus,

Thanks for your responsiveness. I appreciate it. I have already tried to power cycle the FLM. I have also performed multiple attempts to start the FLM in FailSafe Mode, but it doesn't work. On the Dragino wiki I have read that pushing the Toggle button 10-15 seconds after power on should put the device in FailSafe Mode, but that does not work (the wiki is for the MS14, which is different from the MS12, but I had hoped that it would also work). On the OpenWRT web site, I have found that I should ping to the device, and when it responds I should depress and release the Toggle button. I have done that, but again the device won't go in FailSafe mode. The strange thing is that I have tried this with the IP address 192.168.1.1 (as written on the Dragino web site and on the OpenWRT web site) and with the IP address 192.168.255.1 (which is the default IP address for the FLM). At a certain time, they both respond to the ping. The ping only responds for about 5 seconds and then stops responding. This continues to happen in an endless cycle, where the ping responds for about 5 seconds every so many minutes. I start to suspect that the Toggle button would be broken, but that looks unlikely, since these things rarely break. I'm stuck now, any help would be welcome. I have no problem loosing my settings, I can easily reconfigure them. Do you know of a way to force the device back to its factory state?

Greetings,

Serge

See https://www.flukso.net/files/flm02/manual.pdf - page 2. It is actually all about the push button; pinging is one thing; are your able to get the http://192.168.255.1 login page up? Does it stay or does the complete network connection just vanish? (just trying to circle around the potential root cause - which hopefully is not a hardware failure)

Hi Markus,

I have tried all 3 possibilities that are described in the manual to which you are referring. None of them work. The Toggle button is a programmable button, and I think that the FLM does not come to the part where the configuration of the button is read, so it ignores whatever I do with the button. Telnet/SSH to both 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.255.1 don't work. The network connection completely vanishes. I think that to solve my problem (if it is not a HW problem, which I hope it is not) I must either be able to get into FailSafe mode and erase the JFFS2, or completely reflash the device from scratch to reprogram a fresh SquashFS image and erase the JFFS2. Any thoughts on this?

Greetings,

Serge

OK, from here @icarus75 is asked...

I've been able to solve my problem by completely reflashing the FLM. I have followed the procedure that is written at the end of the following case:
